How to and how not to work with a travel agent /Destination Specialist

  » Travel

Do remember, many travel agents work 110 or more hours per week because the work truly is very time consuming. Being good at travel logistics does take experience and many agents truly have it! Be patient! They do know more about travel than you!

When emailing agency, state at least your first name - no worries most of them won’t spam you back. Without your name asking for lots of details most agents don’t take your request too seriously.

If you want to stay in 1 or 2-star hotels and don’t need any other travel services, please arrange on your own as low-end hotels offer no commissions to agents and having to arrange such lodging for you necessitates agent needs to add markup.

There is a difference between a travel agent and Destination Specialist. Destination Specialists pride themselves in knowing the destinations; many of them can arrange travel logistics for you based on really knowing, not looking it up in a brochure.

If you're trying to be you own travel agent, tell me, I may be interested to help you. Don't hide it from me as agents don't like to be used for information only.
