Tip Sheet

Look at your map and select a long catch feature near the area in which you'll be traveling. This feature should be easy to identify on your map and in the field and long enough that it will "catch you" even if you're slightly off in direction.

Terrain catch features a mile or two away from your destination are reasonable. Twenty miles away, they're not. If you reach the catch feature you've seen on the map, you know you've gone too far and which way to turn towards your destination.
