Try to recreate a natural habitat for your reptile. One like they would be living in. It puts less stress on your reptile. The reptile will eat better, be more healthy and live longer. Snakes especially.

Iguanas are prone to what is called, "Rubber Jaw". Many die from not enough calcium. People give them too much iceberg lettuce. They need a proper amount of calcium in their daily diet. They need fruits and vegetables.

Iguanas and most reptiles also need UVA and UVB light as well as a good calcium supplement. UV light helps absorb calcium and use it effectively. Reeds iguana chow is a great alternative to mixing a diet by hand, it provides all the nutrition they need.
