Too many people spend time in the past or the future. You can not change the past, and you can not know what the future holds. the trick is to become extremely focused on the present moment. "The Now" its all we really have. Become hyper present.

Imagine it is one, five, 10, or even 50 years from now. Ask yourself whether this issue will still matter when that much time has passed, and you'll instantly have a greater sense of perspective on it.

Imagine you needed to comfort a good friend who was going through this situation. What would you say and recommend? Then take your own good advice. We often gain perspective by looking at the situation from someone else's viewpoint.
