Take lessons from a teacher and use sites like YouTube to learn. Buy some instruction books and play with other players to get your timing down.

A private guitar teacher is the best option,but very expensive.If you do not have the financial means to pay for a private guitar teacher, I suggest you get online guitar lessons, they are available in all guitar styles, acoustic or electric guitar.
