To cook a meal instead of having a 'restaurant-date' is OK! and much better than Chinese take-out. But even better is: don't cook the whole meal in advance. Finish the cooking together. IF you can work together THEN this might be 'the' one and only!

Cook her a meal. You do not need to dine at fancy restaurants to have a great time if you can't afford it. Look up a few easy recipes online and whip up a great meal. You will impress her with your personal touch.

I was hoping you had more ideas in here. The beach or a lake if you have one near you isn't a bad one, it's good 24 hours a day with alcohol and sandwiches. Fishing surprisingly isn't half bad either.
