Tip Sheet

Use your scanner, computer and printer to make up a loose-leaf folder of large-size prints of your elderly relative's favourite photos from their past. If they are in care, perhaps it can be left with them so they have something to share with visitors.

I gave the fun game Bananagrams to a friend in a retirement home and it was a great hit. It doesn't take up a lot of storage and is quick and easy to play. Also, helps keep their mind alert. Depending on ones handicap it could be good for them also.

Don't know what to talk about when visiting the elderly? Most enjoy talking about times past so ask them about their school days, home life or occupation. You'll both enjoy the time.
