If you set up an outdoor yard for your hens, make sure to cover it with something sturdy - chicken wire or better, so hawks can't drop in, and racoons can't climb in - they will scale a tall fence no problem.

Build your chicken house on wheels so you can roll it from place to place in your yard. Chickens love new bugs to eat and new grass to scratch! Protect your chickens during the day with movable chicken-wire fencing. Tuck them up in their coop at night.
