Auto Refinishing Tips: Save $100+ when going to MAACO. Never pay extra for sealer and hardener! What they tell you is absolutely true. But also true: they will use both even if you don’t pay for them to insure the integrity of the finished job.

Tar is notoriously hard to remove from the finish. Peanut butter (non chunky, of course) will soak into the tar and loosen it enough to be removed much more easily.

Auto Refinishing: after thoroughly washing your car with soap and water then a degreaser, mark any ding and dents you find with masking tape or chalk. Be sure to look the surface over carefully from many angles. Photograph your car for later reference.

Auto Refinishing: if your car has dings and rust and you lack skill in this work it pays to take it to a professional. On the other hand, if you want to learn how to do this work, minor dings and surface rust is not beyond your ability.
