If your electrical circuits are protected by the old ceramic fuses in your meter box spend the few hundred and have an electrician change the fuses to RCD's, if there is a fault they will cut off the power within 4 milliseconds. May save you thousands.

Test and Tag your electrical appliances, have an accredited test and tagger check all your appliances and extension leads, at the same time you change smoke detector batteries. Repair/replace faulty electrical appliances. http://solutionselectrical.com.au

A CO2 extinguisher should be used to extinguish electrical fires. Water extinguishers should not be used to extinguish electrical fires. Remember to turn off the power FIRST
